"Government and Church"

What inspired me for this post was the terrible tragedy that happened in Colorado on July 20, 2012. The reason for this is because when I was watching the news report the reporter said "we are going to have to see what the government does." That sends me a message that the people of this country are relying more on the government rather than relying on God; the provider of everything!

What I am saying is why do we rely more on the government than we do on God? Where have we gone wrong? I know this is a very touchy subject but it needs to be discussed. We really do not need to give the government the responsibility that God has given to us as the church. But we ARE, we have allowed the government to take over that responsibility. In the Bible God tells us to trust in Him, but to also help those in need; not give that responsibility to the government.

                                            OLD TESTAMENT

" The poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the LORD will answer them; I, GOD of Israel, will not forsake them."
                                                                         Isaiah     41:17

" He defended the cause of the poor and needy, and so all went well. Is that not what it means to know me?" declares the LORD."
                                                                         Jeremiah 22:16

" Sing to the LORD! Give praise to the LORD! He rescues the life of the needy from the hands of the wicked."                                          Jeremiah 20:13

                                           NEW TESTAMENT

" The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of the sight for the blind, to release the oppressed."                                                                                                               Luke 4:18

" But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind."
                                                                    Luke 14:13

" If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth."              1 John 3:17-18

In both the old and new testament; before, during, and after Jesus came to the earth. God is telling us, as the church to take care of the poor, the destitute and the needy. We all have the strength of God. Which is infinitely more than the government will or can ever have. We all need to take back the responsibility that God gave us rather than sitting back and allowing the government to do what God has called the church to do! If we all came together as a church we could get more done for this country and world. We would have more money than the government, and be more powerful to do this. We would not have to worry about them miss spending His money on things that do not matter; like their extremely large salaries. Why are we so scared to stand up and take on the call that God has given us? If everyone stood together, and with the strength of God we could change the world.

"What is life"

What is life really about? It is not about us; it is about God. We would not be here if He had not created us. We tend to think life is about us; we could not be more wrong. Why wouldn't we want to praise God? He is the one that puts air in our lungs and decides whether we will wake up tomorrow. Most of us live for the world and not for God. When we do this we are following sin. Sin is from our enemy the devil. Why would we want to give the enemy that power? For most of us the answer is simple, sin is fun. If anyone says different they are lying. It is in scripture; "Do Not Boast About Tomorrow."

"Come now, you who say, Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit. Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away. Instead, you ought to say "if the Lord wills, we will live and also do this and that." But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. Therefore, to on who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin."                                       James 4:13-17

Also listen to this song, it is one of my favorits. I hope it touches you like it has for me.

Remember this life is not for us. It is for Him; so lets praise and respect our creator. He LOVES us; He sacrificed His son for us!!

"Personal Relationship"

I never knew I could have a personal intimate relationship with Jesus. It might sound crazy to almost meditate and talk to Jesus but He longs for it. He died for us and all He asks for is our love and respect in return. As humans we really do not understand this unless we know Him personally. Most people will think you are crazy; but isn't that how it is a lot in our society? When people do not understand or do not believe it because they can not see it or figure it out. I believe it because I try to talk to Him everyday. I will give Him all my problems, worries, emotions or just talk to Him like an old friend. Another great way to get to know Him is to read His word, this is another thing some people question; but I believe the word of God is true. I know a man that goes to my church, he used to be a witch doctor, he had never read one page of the bible in his life. He became very ill and flat lined 7 times, each time he flat lined Jesus would re-sight versus from the bible to him. When I heard this story it sent chills up my back, and it also opened my eyes so much more to the Lord. He is real; we can have a personal relationship with him and reading His word will help us understand Him even more. Just because we can't see something or can't understand something does not mean it is not real or that it did not happen. I am so glad I have someone to give my problems to because I know He will not forsake me!

"Prayer"

I know this is not like my normal posts are but I would just like to ask the people that are viewing my blog to help us pray. I would first like to thank every one who looks at this blog and reads my posts. Secondly I would ask every one to pray for my husbands cousin and there family, they are going through a extremely dark season right now and have been for the last few months. I know it will not be getting any easier. They are expecting their 3rd child August 12th, but they found out at the beginning of the pregnancy there is something wrong. The little baby girl has alobar holoprosencephaly (HPE) this is the most sever form of cleavage failure of the forebrain (prosencephalon) before 6 weeks gestation. Not only did her brain not form correctly but she also has many facial anomalies. She may not live through labor and if she does the doctors do not know if she will live hours, days, or weeks. They did not abort the pregnancy because it is not what God placed in their hearts. This little girl is not even here yet and she is doing God's work! She has brought her family closer to Him, brought a community together, and made a close family even closer. Her name is Pearl Joy. All I am asking is to pray for her and her family, I would love to see another miracle healing happen! Lets all reach out to our Father in Heaven and ask Him to heal this little baby and help her family through this dark time.

"The Church"

Jesus has lead me to a great church that has opened my eyes in so many ways. I attend Journey Church in Raleigh, NC. Before attending Journey I had know idea church could be like this. People do not judge you for how you look, where you came from, or what you have been through in life. They just look at you as another one of God's children just like they are. This church is a non denomination; I was introduced to a non denomination when I went for to Florida last Thanksgiving; Celebration Church.

One key thing I have learned though is that it does not mater what church you go to because in essence everyone of us is the church. We are the ones created by God in his image to do his work. Life is not about us it is about Him. He already knows what we are going to do no matter if it is good ore bad, He is the one that knew our life before we where created. He is the alpha and omega! He is life and what life is for. It tells us this in scripture Revelation 1:8 "I am the Alpha and Omega," says the Lord God, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." and in Jeremiah 10:23 "I know, O Lord, that a man's way is not in himself, Nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps."
